Remember, even the most seasoned academic veterans have had to learn how to write a research paper at some point in their career. Keep your focus narrow and avoid the kitchen sink approach. Become narrow! Without a well-thought-out thesis statement, your paper is likely to end up jumbled and with an unclear purpose. Aim to have your final paper ready a day or two before the deadline.

Qualify the answer if necessary. Everything you learn may be fascinating, but not all of it is going to be relevant to your paper. What you should do at this point is preliminary research. Conclude the introductory paragraph with your thesis statement.
State why the main idea is important — Tell the reader why he or she should care and keep reading. Correct all errors that you can spot and improve the overall quality of the paper to the best of your ability. The first is a clear statement of the main research question or hypothesis.
Be the best writer in the office. You should necessarily ask your instuctor which formatting style is required for your paper and format it accordingly before submitting. However, if there are other studies that have failed to demonstrate it, you should discuss them too.
Organize before you start writing. Or if you are proposing a new theory, then of course you should discuss findings that are consistent with that theory. Regardless, Bem  suggests the following basic structure for discussing each new result: Remind the reader of the research question. Concrete examples are often very useful here. That is still too broad. The basic structure of your argument, then, should be apparent from the outline itself.
