Because of his charismatic personality, dedication to the nation, leadership skills and revolutionary ideas ,he achieved a legendary status in India post-independence. But his patriotic nature and urge for participating in the freedom movement of his home country was so intense that in April , Bose resigned from the coveted Indian Civil Service and came back to India.
He joined the Indian national Congress started playing an active role in mobilizing the youth in Bengal and adjacent places. He went to jail many times.
