Why do you want to study in this country? At this institution? How does a semester or year of studying and living abroad fit into your overall educational goals?

Chances are that you will not be the only international student in your program. Now that I am an adult and in college, my dream of studying abroad is close but just out of my grasp. Too specific, and you may miss out on a chance to demonstrate your creativity, but too open-ended and you risk going in the opposite direction of what the staff is looking for. It is such a rewarding experience seeing their faces light up as they start to understand a difficult topic such as a foreign language. Explain how going to class in a different culture will expand your capacity to learn and interpret new information.
